My WoW account was just closed due to chat/advertisement spamming... wtf?
I just started playing WoW again after a long time off. I created a whole new account and bought a new game. Now I just got an email saying my account has been closed..."Reason for Action: In-Game Chat Policy Violation - Advertisement and Spamming"
I have used trade chat maybe twice since I've been playing again. Im only level 25 now. I dont know why Blizzard would kick me for this reason.
The only thing weird I can think of happening is the very last time I played the game (a few hours ago) I was finishing up a dungeon (BFD) and I was getting disconnected just about every minute until I decided I was tired of logging back in, so I just left it closed.
It makes me wonder if someone was logging into my account while I was logged into it. But even then, no one in my party acted like I was spamming something when I was logged off for 2 seconds.
Idk this is just really frustrating, I filed a form with Blizzard to dispute it but I know Blizzard is notorious for being slow as hell and they rarely overturn a decision. I hope I didnt just waste my money on this game again.
Any ideas why I would get kicked for this when I never use chat?

Sounds to me like you have been hacked. How annoying and frustrating. I hope they sort this for you soon . Maybe someone in your group was fed up of you logging in and out and they all made a pact to report you for spam and if someone else was logging in also it made it worse. You don't know what they might have been saying whilst you were offline.

You got hacked. For what reason, is unknown to me, probably for items, gold and the likes. Complaining to Blizzard my cause them to check the last logged in IP address into your hacked profile which could possibly lead them to banning the hacker. I'd advise explaining in a nice tone to them what you believe happened so they could possibly examine it. Good luck.

You kept getting Dc'd because a keylogger was logging onto you, you should have changed your password they probaly stole your stuff anyways...when you stoped trying to relog ther probaly went to trade selling gold etc.

perhaps if genuinely everyone reported unsolicited mail they might would desire to stop. we would desire to constantly have an anti-unsolicited mail day the place genuinely everyone gets mutually and comments any and all unsolicited mail. i'm bored with examining each and all of the unsolicited mail too.
