question about rio hotel in vegas?
just looking for some feedback from anyone that may have stayed there does anyone know if the $20 trick will get you a better room my intent is to tip big and get a really prime room you know an upgrade now other than paris in vegas and borgata in ac this trick always seems to work so if anyone can answer i would appreciate

Well, you can always ask how much more the next best room costs. Probably not that much more. In Rio's case it will likely be a strip view.
I've gotten this sort of upgrade just for being pleasant and nice and appreciative. Usually happens when I suffer some sort of small inconvenience due to hotel's fault. I doubt that the $20 tip would work at a big chain like harrahs (which rio is a part of)

The $20 trick rarely works in Vegas these days, if ever. You can ask for any available upgrades, and they will often give you a discounted upgrade if available. My friends recently upgraded their room at Caesars for $20 more a night, which would have normally been a difference in rates of about $100 a night.

The trick is a BIG joke. No $20 tip will get you an upgrade at any vegas hotel. The desk clerk does not have the authority in this day and age. Tipping like that goes back to 1960s not now. Sorry
