Give one reason why Eurypterus, the index fossil is found in only sedimentary rocks?

    Igneous and metamorphic rocks would destroy the fossils as these rocks were formed due to heat and pressure. Sedimentary rock would not.

    There is an exception to that, Limestone metamorphoses into Marble and that low grade metamorphism will allow fossils to remain intact through the process.
