what are the best beaches in ma?

salisbury, ipswich is amazing. plum island

The best beaches are on the Cape and Islands, especially Coast Guard beach in Eastham. But like the answerer above me said, it takes a long time to get there and back

I normally go to Horseneck Beach in Westport, near the RI border. It is a nice beach, and easy to get to where I live. But it's not the same caliber of many of the beaches on the Cape and Islands

The South Coast of Rhode Island also has many great beaches as well, such as Misquamicut

North of Boston my favorite beaches are:

Wingarsheek in Gloucester

Crane's in Ipswich (stay away during greenhead season)

Salisbury State Park in Salisbury

South(East) of Boston my favorites are:

Sagamore in Sagamore (you can watch ships entering/exiting the Cape Cod Canal)

Olde Silver in Falmouth (warmest water but no waves)

South in Edgartown (huge waves and you can drive on with a 4WD)

Coast Guard Beach in Eastham

Nauset in Orleans

Head of the Meadow in Provincetown

Race Point in Provincetown

There are a lot of beautiful beaches in Massachusetts. The catch is, most of the beaches in *BOSTON* kind of suck. (Picture the movie "Soylent Green")

The closest really nice beach to Boston are the Hull/Nantasket beaches just South of Boston. They are very, very Beautiful.

I used to love Horseneck beach as a kid.

Driving time can be very long, but there are a lot of great beaches all over Cape Cod.
