samsung instinct phone?

I got a Samsung Instinct off of a friend. If I get an everything messaging plan will I be able to use my phone?

    AT&T has the "quick messaging plans" now on certain phones. It is a requirement on some phones. So if you are prompted to get it, then you must.No way to get out of it. Yes you can use your phone still.
