The Coast Guard is done for the year, anyone wanting in now is waiting for October or later for a ship date. We have the highest ASVAB requirements, and are the strictist as far as legal, financial, and tattoos go. We need the fewest recruits. With the exception of medical waivers for certain situations, we give almost no waivers.

The AVERAGE ASVAB score for the people my office put in was 78, and we didn't consider too many people that scored less than 65. Many offices in easier recruiting areas set their minimum ASVAB requirements even higher.

The Air Force of the regular services. They have the highest AFQT standard.

Coast Guard is the hardest to enlist in, because they only recruit 4,000 new sailors each year, not because their standards are higher, plus they are not a military service.

The US Coast Guard. They currently have over a year wait to get in and also have the highest enlistment standards.

In war time, the U.S. Coast Guard is the hardest to get into. During the Viet Nam war, the Coast Guard had a waiting list of 4 yrs.

During Peace Time, Air Force or Navy fighter pilots are the hardest to become.

When I enlisted the Navy had tighter requirements.

Each service has different guidelines for all of its new recruits.

Enlisting in the Navy's Nuclear Power school is really hard to get into.
