First home pc build - boot problem, please please help!?
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my question... any advice would be really helpful!
I have just bought a whole bunch of components for a home build and am having a serious problem with booting.
I have read through the boot problem checklist with no luck.
First of all here is what I'm working with:
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4
Intel core i5 750
Ati radeon Sapphire vapor-X HD 5770 1gb
2x2gb cucial pc3-10600 ddr3 1.5v
corsair tx650w PSU
samsung spinpoint f3 1TB 7200rpm
coolermaster elite 310
The problem is that when I turn the computer on, nothing appears on the screen. Nothing at all is detected by my monitor (tried several to b sure).
Often, the computer will shut off after about 20 secs and start up again and this will go on in cycles.
So far, I have:
-checked all my connections
-Checked the processor was inserted correct,
-tried the sticks of ram in every possible combination.
- tried both pci-e slots with the HD 5770 but also an older card from a dell.
I just don't understNd what the problem is and I was very careful with evry component. My hope is that, due to my inexperince I had made a very simple and fixable mistake.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or how I could find out!
One last note: I don't have a motherboard speaker so can't register any beeps. I will try to buy one as soon as I can but would rather get this sorted while I can still return any malfunctioning components... I actually tried to Grab one off another computer but it was only 2 pin and I couldn't get it to work.
Any help is much appreciated.

The mother board thing mentioned is a good idea to check. Make sure u use ur spacers when mounting mobo so its not touching case. If you get no action at all when turning on, like video card and cpu fan and all that dont come on, you probably have a defective mobo. If everything is firing up do you have the right memory installed and in the right dimm slots? Plus if you have a beep code it would be really helpful, 1 beep followed by 3 or 4 quick ones usually means vid card. Also check to make sure BOTH ur power connectors are plugged into mobo, and video card.
Oh if you clear cmos, you dont have to wait long. just move it over for a couple seconds then back and it will be cleared.

hi
can you get to bios?
(if yes check CPU)
some times you got a do a bios reset before you turn on with a new CPU
i was looking at the mobo specs seems to me you got the right parts
so im thinking you got a bad board
do a bios reset if it doesn't work return the board
believe it or not in my experience ive had to return quite a few bad boards right out of the box
hope that helps

What actual is occurs once you hit the skill button? have you ever tried to reset the bios by skill of removing the battery and touching the + and - on the holder to end the circuit then changing the battery? extra: Why did you're making me a sprint once you took somebody's suggestion such as mine? additionally, Ubuntu makes use of a distinctive bootmanager than domicile windows. in case you opt to apply the two O.S.'s you like that bootlog put in no longer the domicile windows version!

de assemble your PC once and then put a new paper on the case first and then place your motherboard and fit in the processor and the processor FAN very properly before fitting in the motherboard. Please do it very carefully this time and i am sure you will get it done.
