I listen to the talk shows on NPR a lot, and also I listen to the right wing talk shows at night just for a laugh. When I'm on the computer I listen to Beatles a Rama. There's a site called Windows Media Guide Internet Radio that lists tons of stations and their formats. Just google it and you'll find more stations than you can shake a stick at.

I do not know where to find the ratings, but I would guess that WLS and WGN in Chicago are near the top of the list of most listened to radio stations by seniors. Both can be heard in most of the US and parts of Canada at night, and over the internet they draw listeners from all over the world.

I believe it would be "talk radio". And I am not sure, but I think it is related to Fox News. It would
depend on where you live, to get the station identification. There are call in programs as well as
subjects discussed of a political venue. Or current events discussed or debated. It's informational,
and these programs make you think, instead of being entertained.

I'm guessing most listen to news and talk radio that fits their political leanings. I listen to WLS/am from Chicago and have listened to that even when it was a rock station back in the 60's . Even remember the old DJ's like Clark Webber, Dex Card,Dick Biondi, Lujack, Landecker and a bunch of others. I can remember listening to it as early as about 1961.
WLS was the first station to broadcast police calls starting in 1934.
WLS has about everything I would normally listen to. For music I go with my CD's.

I can only tell about what I listen to. I listen to a classical music station, a jazz station, an oldies station, a country music station and an NPR - all on FM. On AM - I listen to a news only station, a sports only station.

Depends on what part of the country we're talkin' about. I currently listen to SOS ... usually I just twist the dial until something comes on that I like and I have no idea what I'm listening to and will change it up when I don't like it anymore.

I don't listen to the radio.
I still listen to my records & cassette tapes.
I own 3 CD's & I hate they way they sound.
I'm an old DJ who once worked at a radio station.
We spun our own records & did our own commercials live as well as in the studio. Then we switched to cart machines & then used reel to reel tapes for commercials & pre-recorded shows with guest sponsors & radio as I knew it was dead.
Art Goode's Jazz Tracks was very popular just as I was leaving radio for a different career path.
Nothing beats sitting around staring at the glowing tubes in the transmitter site for 1+ hours & then changing the tape & sitting around for the next 90 minutes.
I despise today's version of radio. It lacks originality & depth, in my opinion.

In these parts, possibly WLW in Cincinnati. If I could afford XM radio, I'd listen to it more myself.
