On cold nights, does your eyelid ever stick to low-relief eyepieces?

This happens a lot, as I tend to mash my eye up next to it... I should really stop that :) It sticks just like a tongue to a stop sign on a cold day.

Update:

*except it's not irremovable :p

Yeah I once had a line of kids waiting to look at the Moon. Couldn't figure out why it looked so fuzzy. I had left the translucent cover on the end of the eyepiece that was inside the focuser.

Another time, I left the counterweight at home. That would have been tough to set up for fingertip operation.

Once I left the whole head of the mount at home. Had nothing to hold the scope unless I wanted to carry it around or roll it in the grass. Pretty dumb.

I can recall having my eyelashes stick to the eyepiece a couple of times on one cold night. Didn't hurt, just felt really weird.

Interesting and funny but due to the rarity of me using my scopes, not yet.

I love the responses here! Very much!

    Clear skies!
