I am a U.S. citizen with a drivers license. I am going to the Philippines this summer and I want to rent a car. What do I need to do?

You use your US license; the International Drivers Permit is only a translation document that doesn't give any special privileges, and you don't really need one in any country that knows English, which the Philippines does.

Go to your local AAA office and they can make you one. It cost a little more for non-member, I think $35 or $20 for member. You can drive anywhere in the world that listed on the book. The only place that it doesn't work is US.
