How do i calculate this error?

I'm in the middle of an experiment using a diffraction grating and need to work out the error in slit width, the grating has 5.905*10^5 slits per meter and the error is plus, minus 500 per metre. the slit width is 1.6 micrometers.

the error in slit width is what causes the error in the number of slits per metre, so the proportional errors are the same.

the error in slit width is therefore 1.6um x (500/590500).
