mmm whatcha say about the pope?

opinions? anyone anyone?

im protestant i think that the pope is unnecessary and offensive to my religion, many catholics go to the pope for answers rather than a god and almost see him as an idol he is human just as the rest of us

Wow...you're comments made me almost speechless...

I'm protestant too (Lutheran)...but I wish I was blessed to be in his presence someday...even to just be in the Masses close enough to see him when he does an Easter service. I really do hope to make it to Italy one day :)

Long live the pope and the Catholic Church!!!!!!

<<im protestant i think that the pope is unnecessary and offensive to my religion,>>

So what if you do think that?

<<many catholics go to the pope for answers rather than a god and almost see him as an idol he is human just as the rest of us>>

The "office" of the pope was instituted by God Himself., for the purpose of being the visable head of the Church on earth. None of that changes the fact that Jesus is still the King and High Priest of the Catholic Church.

The problem is that you don't understand WHO the pope is; you don't understand WHAT he does; you don't understand WHY he does it. So it's no wonder you don't understand the average lay Catholic's reactions when they are blessed with an opportunity to see the pope in person.

Know your place and the limitations of your place.

I am always amused by non-Catholics who think they know Catholicism better than Catholics themselves.
