I like them both, but have recently favored the lighter, thinner New York style. I think that it lets the toppings shine. If I don't have to go anywhere or do anything, and I'm not worrying about my weight, Chicago style will leave me in a nice food coma for the rest of the night.

The best pizza I have ever had was at a little restaurant in DC called Machicavelli's. It was kind of an in-between hand-tossed style - not deep dish, but not wafer thin either, with a hint of yeasty doughiness under a beautifully browned outside. If I had their crust recipe, I'd open my own pizzeria in a heartbeat.

Thin if it's just for you and Deep if you have a family and have to share.

I prefer the thin crust. I like the crunch. That and I am just eating the crust because it holds melted cheese and other goodies.
