Will my misdemeanor charge disqualify me from getting this job at a law firm?
I got a misdemeanor charge two years ago for driving with an invalid license. My license was suspended due to lack of insurance. I didn't know it was suspended because I failed to notify the DMV that I had a new mailing address.
Now I was hired as a receptionist at a law firm, but will be disqualified if I don't pass the background check. What are my chances of passing the background check?? Please help! I want this job really bad and I'm beyond stressed!!

If you were hired...then they must have already checked you.
They only want to know if you have a CRIMINAL background...
That's why they always tell you to notify them in case of a change of address.
You would have to know your license was suspended, because you couldn't renew it.
Getting your license suspended doesn't sound bad,but once have it done..you have to pay more in insurance when you could have got away with a cheaper one...and someone has to drive you everywhere cause you have no license. If your caught driving again with out a license you will be fined more. It's cheaper to get the insurance and keep the tags on your vehicle up to date...and some business you work for, require a drivers license, and insurance.
