I have a misdemeanor. Will I pass a pre-employment background check?

I was convicted of driving with an invalid license, a misdemeanor, in 2008. Will this cause me to fail a pre-employment background check? The company (a law firm), seems strict. What are my chances that my misdemeanor will disqualify me from getting this job as a receptionist??? I need help, I'm really worried! Thanks!

Update:

Infinity:

The application asked if I have ever been convicted of a crime, "felony or misdemeanor". Then it states that havin a conviction doesn't necessarily disqualify me from getting the job. It doesn't state anything more about it.

Yes you will pass, they don't check motor vehicle offenses or civil infractions.

What does your employment application ask?

    Felonies? Misdemeanors? Minor traffic violations?

    It all depends.
