Should the Tennessee Titans sue?

I noticed an NRL team called the Titans the other day, even the design of the word 'Titans' and team colors are identical to the Tennessee Titans football team (which was founded in the early 90's) It is straight up trade-mark infringement!! Lucky the NFL doesn't know the NRL Titans exist.

Other NRL copies are the Cowboys, after the Dallas Cowboys (I did not think there were any Cowboys in Australia's history, only convicts!)

The Canberra Raiders after the Oakland Raiders (similiar logo to the Raiders founded in the late 50's) the Bronco's after the Denver Bronco's (founded in the 50's) and I'm sure a lot more I'm not aware of.

Come on NRL be original!! The best NRL football team name is the St. George Dragons!! It's a cool name and is highly original!!

i agree, i live on the gold coast, and when the comp came out to name the team, the final 6 were like, pirates, dolphins, titans etc, thats what i was like, my suggestion was the gold coast snappers, its a crazy gold coast fish, and we love catching an eating them here and its a cool name relevant to nrl too

Are you back again, stirring the pot? The NRL are entitled to use any words in an English language dictionary, and teams may use whatever they choose as a team name, mascot or whatever. As has been said, Viking Raiders were not an American invention, Titans are creatures in Greek myths, and since when does the NFL care about anything but itself?

I'm not sure how I feel about you calling my Dragons 'cool' .. I think we're fine as we are, playing NRL in our own country.

    Stir away.

You've gotta be kidding yourself. You think because the NRL has a few names the same as the NFL we are copying you and not being original. Its called coincidence ****head, don't look too far into it.

Its like saying Carolina Panthers stole the name from Penrith Panthers, Penrith were established 26 years before Carolina. Carolina has a very similar looking logo and colours, how unoriginal.... If only Penrith knew about the NFL, ohh boy oh boy they'd sue the pants right off of the Carolina Panthers.

    How old are ya?

Does this then mean that Greece will sue? I seem to remember that the Titans were involved with ancient Greece. Similarly, the Norwegians would also have a claim as well. The vikings were there a long time before Minesota adopted the name. No we don't have cowboys here. The cattle on our state sized selections (ranches) bring themselves in at roundup time on their own. The Canberra Raiders name is to differentiate from the local rugby club

I'm not really a fan of the name "Titans" for the Gold Coast either really.

Also, you are aware that England used America as a penal colony as well aren't you? Ah silly me, of course you don't, you're American!

I bid good day to you fellow convict!

Ok, if you had any understanding of copyright infringements of names of international sports teams in a domestic competition you would know that there is **** all they can do to make them change their name. You are clearly an Idiot and should go back to the deep south with all of your in-bread cousins, aka wife(s)

Why would we bother to copy the NFL. What do they have, that we don't. USA doesn't own the world.

You are a typical ignorant American.
