Bootloader Ubuntu Help?

I have had Linux Ubuntu OS installed for a while as a dualboot. I upgraded from Vista to Win7 a while back and lost my bootloader prompt on start up. I was wondering how i can get it back!!!

I would suggest trying Super Grub Disk, can download here: http://www.supergrubdisk.org/index.php

Here you can restore grub, remove grub, or add a new entry. I used this when Win7 removed grub.

XP's somewhat "assertive," and its NTLDR pre-empts grub if it receives put in after Linux. Boot the Ubuntu stay CD and bypass tweak your settings in etc/boot/menu.lst as stumbled on on the IDEcontinual. If that would not help, ask in the wonderful Ubuntu forums.

This happened because Windows (all versions of that crap system) will over-write the master boot record when you install them. So, if you had grub installed as the boot loader (which is likely the case, since you installed Ubuntu), you have to reinstall it.

Google this: "reinstall grub after Windows"

You'll get a bunch of results. All you have to do is reinstall grub.
