What is the worst car accident you've ever been in?

Drunk driver veered into my lane on a 2 lane road. Near head on collision at 60 miles per hr. Broke both ankles, Both thumbs, broken nose, fractured skull and the air bag broke two ribs. Off work a total of 8 months. All in all I came out of it better than the drunk and his passenger did, they both died.

I've only been in one, and it was around 2AM yesterday.

I was in the passenger side of the car, really tired from the thing I'd been to all weekend, hadn't slept, all of a sudden, I hear this loud bang while we're going through an intersection, and the car spins 180 degrees, and I see a white van speed off. The other person in the car got a really bad asthma attack while we were trying to contact the police. I just had the crap scared out of me because the side of the car that was hit was the one I was sitting on. While I got into the passenger side of the ambulance (the driver had neck and back pain, accompanied by the aforementioned asthma attack) I looked at the car, and the doors were just destroyed, all that was left was the frame, insulation, and inside half. Since I wasn't leaning against the door I got out with just a bruise on my arm, but the driver had muscle strains.

We're actually lucky to be alive, since the car could have flipped over and gotten hit again since the lady who hit us apparently smelled like she had been drinking (To the police officer who was in the hospital to get info). Her license plate fell off at the crash site, so now she's in trouble for fleeing the site of an accident, running a red light, and possibly drunk driving

We need a new car as well

I haven't been in one, but I've seen a pretty bad on my road. I live in the country and my road is very curvy with a large bayou on one side of it, and these kids that were going at least 75 missed the curve and landed in the bayou.

I was calmly driving along in my Prius when all of a sudden it accellerated uncontrollably. In my attempts to shut off the engine I ran up close to a tractor trailer and nudged him slightly. Somehow he lost control and jacknifed his rig in the centre of the highway. This caused a giant collision of over 42 vehicles. One vehicle even flew up into the air and collided with a low-flying helicopter, bringing it down into the mess also.

But I managed to shut off my motor and all was fine when I started it up again. I continued slowly and carefully back to my home in complete safety, warmed by the glow of the fires and explosions behind me.

The car set on fire and exploded a short while after. I managed to escape
