Comparing two artists for a research paper?
So for my art appreciation class we need to compare two different artists..here's the basic info:
The paper you will be writing for this class is a compare/contrast essay looking at two different artists, one who created most of their work before 1950, and one who is contemporary (still working, or recently deceased, and having completed most or all of their work since 1950). You will be making direct comparisons between at least one piece from each artist, though two would be better. I would suggest choosing artists who have something in common as far as their art is concerned. Maybe you will pick two artists who deal with the human figure in different times. Maybe you will pick two political cartoonists, or propagandists, or abstractionists, or religious painters.
ANY GOOD SUGGESTIONS?!

try using an example from Walt or Lasseter, and explaining it than use the other artist and explain it. Than show the contrasts/comparisons. You can use transitions like, "Unlike Walt, Lasseter uses a duller color scheme in this work." Hope it helps!

Recent work: Roy Lichtenstein. He used dots (like those used in comic books).
Older work: Toulouse-Latrec. He worked in Paris around 1900 and was mostly noted for his posters.
Similarities: they both focused on the environment around them. In addition, they both worked with materials used in printing.
