Alright i have the same problem on my blazer like in the video, and since i'm hurtin for cash i was thinking about trying the same thing to fix it. The only thing i want to do differently is sand down the rust and then spray it with Rust Check's Rust Killer before doing the other steps. But i don't know how long the Rust Killer will keep the rust from coming back..

I simply think that nothing can cover up rust because it will still be there. Sanding down or lightly grinding off the rust is just about the only way to get completely rid of it. That, or simply replace the entire part for a new one. That rust killer will only penetrate the surface of the rust. I dont know how deep the rust is on your blazer though but thats all I can help with.

I don't know about that brand, but I've used Extend and it lasted for a few years. When a little rust did start coming through, I just sprayed on some more. As far as the butyl sealer, I don't think that will last too long, but it's cheap and better than nothing.
