Date Claimant Began Establishing Legal Florida Residence and Domicile? What does it mean?
there is another question on yahoo answers identical to this one, only I am claiming independent, the other persons answer was the date his/her father entered Florida with intent to become a resident. Well I was born in Florida and have lived here all my life, so would this date for me be my date of birth or the date of my 18th birthday, or possibly something else?

In general, you establish your legal residence by showing intent to reside in a place by registering to vote, pay taxes, getting a job, getting a driver's license, buying a home, and so on. Since most of these require you to be an adult, if the number of years of resident doesn't matter, use the date of your 18th birthday.
If the number of years matter, or you are not yet 18, use the date you got your driver's license.
If you haven't got a driver's license yet, or that still doesn't give you enough years, you can use the date you enrolled in high school, opened a bank account, or filed an income tax form.
The main point here is that you can use any date that you did some action that expressed your personal intent to make Florida your home.
Hope that helps.
