need legal advice about sexual abuse, can I sue?

My father sexually abused me, beat me and more. My mother knew about it all and did nothing.

My father was arrested in 1992 or 93. He did not serve time in jail. A plea bargin was made without my knowledge and it was said that it was in my best interest to just accept it then. My father attacked me again in 2008 and I had a break down after and I had to quit my job. I have taken medications to help but all I really wanted was to die, I felt like it was my only way to deal with it.

I lost the person I was, I relive it daily and after all these years I can't wrap my mind around it.

I want to know if I can have him charged again, can my mother be charged for doing nothing to help me when I was a kid, and can I sue him for the damage it has had on me to date?

    If he did it after the arrest and time served, it becomes a whole new crime. He can be charged again as long as you have proof you can take to authorities.

    Your dad can't be charged again for molesting you in the early 90's, he was already convicted. You can however press charges for what he did to you in 2008, he could be charged with a lot of things, depending on how old you were, and what he did;

    assault

    assault causing bodily harm

    sexual assault

    sexual interference (if you were under 16 in 2008)

    sexual assault causing bodily harm

    The going rate for an average sexual assault conviction is 2 years less a day if convicted. Your mom cannot be charged unless you were under 16, but if you were older then 16 no your mom can't be charged.

    There is a billboard on Highway 183 in bedford texas area that is a sign for an attorney that sues sex offenders. So I assume that it is possible and even happens often enough to warrant a billboard ad.
