MY Speakers wont work on my Computer?

My hard drive just died and i had to install a new 320gb HDD. Everything on my computer works but the speakers. when i go into the control pannel menu and audio devices etc. under the hardware tab it will not even register that the speakers are plugged in. it used to work no prob. please help!

it is windows XP Home edition.

if somebody could just gimme a link to fix it or tell me how. also if it came with any cd with software for it i dont have it now.

please help!

    if its first time happening then it must be the problem of driver any driver of ur audio is not installed properly tell to ur vendor to solve it u can't do this.. or its happen after some time u using computer then

    just restore ur computer and ur problem will solved for this follow :-

    star -> Program-> system tools->system restore and follow then a pop up window will display and follow the instruction as written on ur computer.. SELECT THE DATE WHEN UR COMPUTER WORKED PROPERLY,,,!! MAY BE IT WORK'S..!!!

    It has to do with drivers.

    Usually you have a CD with all the drivers located, if you do put the CD in and install.
