White Smoke from 1999 Dodge Intrepid?

I recently purchased a 1999 dodge intrepid and since I purchased it I have seen a very small amount of white smoke coming from the tailpipe. It only does that while warming the car and when I have made a stop at either a stop sign or red light. It does not smoke while I am stopped but will smoke when I take off. The smoke then only last a second or two at that time. It looks to me like a white smoke. Since I have noticed the smoke the check engine light has appeared to come on. Went to auto parts store to have code read and that came out to be the EGR valve sensor. I have done some reading and now finds out these probably are the worse cars with the 2.7L engine. My engine runs very quiet and drives very smooth. I NEED HELP BADLY!!!! Can someone with mechanic experience help me please. And if you are a mechanic, can you please roughly give me an estimate of about how much this will cost me to fix. Thanks!!! Also car have never ran hot and when i am done driving i sit in garage and only see a small amout of oil like a quarter size and there is no oil in cooland nor is there milky looking oil.

Update:

worn valve guides what can i do tempoary to stop it like i said it not alot of smoke small amout.

if its worn valve guides the nothing you can do to stop it ,you might try going to a thicker oil in it sometimes that helps a little bit the more wear and tear it gets on it the more it will smoke, its more than likely the valve stem seals that are causing it to smoke and they can be replaced for about 150.00 bucks, you don't have to remove the heads to replace those, and that will stop it from doing that,as long as your not having to add a lot of oil to it right now i wouldn't worry about it for a while, good luck on it.

Worn valve guides will give off BLUE (oil) smoke, WHITE smoke is steam, your problem sounds like a leaking head gasket. It doesn't sound like it's bad YET but it will not get any better with time without corrective action.

Keep an eye on your coolant level because that's where the steam originates and the coolant level will drop over time.

The 2.7 does not have a good reputation from what I read, sludge buildup seems to be the biggest problem with them. My father has a 2000 2.7 Intrepid with 80 couple thousand miles on it he bought new and no problems yet but who knows.

blown head gaskets is the source.after you drive a while you wil notice water level low and water coming out exuast.

if you call a part store they will tell you that the headgaskets are 160 bucks for it.so there is a company that is on ebay motors whole sells the whole rebuild kit with everything for 149 plus shipping.

i would watch it closely if you continue to drive it, keep and eye on water level and water in oil.

as long as it dont get worse you will be fine if it gets worse the water will poor into the cylinder causeing a missfire or worse stopping the engine.

the 2.7 is touchy and expensive to get worked on but its not hard to work on that engine if you take you time and watch everything closely.

be sure to get the gaskets for the
