Age ain't nothing but a number?
Has anyone noticed that the people who say this are either really young, or trying to justify doing something they know is wrong?
And it's more an observation on the use of the phrase. In general sometimes age doesn't matter, and in others it matters a great deal.

I have noticed that. I was expecting a really young girl to say she's in love with someone twice their age or a pervert to say that he's in love with someone half his age.

actually no --- if 2 people classed as adults are attracted to each other then i dont see a problem --- its always been that younger ladies (in general) go out with older guys with age gaps ranging from a few years to decades --- yet they married and lived happy lives --- my sister for one married young to a much older guy and now they have six kids just about all left school and they are great kids ---- so age IS just a number --- no matter how you rage against it people fall in love and we dont have a say in who we fall for nor can we determine who falls for us --- yes there are some nasty people out there but i think you will find the majority are normal people who fell in love

Age is how experienced or how long you've bee here. So of course younger people will say that, they're not as experienced, and as for the people who are just trying to justify what they've done, it shows how immature they are. Age is kind of like a label.

Provided that the two parties are above the age of consent, then age is just a number.

Neither is the number of years sentenced to prison. Judging by their logic, of course.
