Good name for a male English Mastiff?
I plan on getting a male English Mastiff but am having problems picking out names. I like the names Tank, Diesel, and Bart. Do you have another suggestion? Do you like the 3 I like and if so whats your favorite one?

Tank and Diesel are fairly classic Mastiff names -- I know seven Mastiffs named Tank and five named Diesel. They're tried-and-true, so you can't really go wrong with either of them. But obviously, if you're looking for originality, steer clear of these names! Other very common Mastiff names include Gus, Bubba and Zeus.
I don't care for Bart, though. It reminds me of the show "The Simpsons," of which I've never really been a fan.
If you like names like Tank and Diesel, try thinking of names that are related to those, but a little more unique. For instance, one Mastiff owner I know named her boy Abram after a type of tank. So you could name him after a specific type of tank or car (like one female Mastiff I know named Tonka after the truck, or Audi after the car), get it?
I do recommend that you wait until you get him to settle on a name, though. Both times my family has gotten a Mastiff puppy, we'd begin brainstorming names at least a month in advance.. and yet the puppies still remained unnamed for about a month after arriving home! We wanted to pick names that suited them, you know? So wait until you get to know your boy, and I'm sure he'll practically name himself! It might be a physical trait (like naming him after a tank or truck due to his size, for instance), or it might be a temperament characteristic (like naming him after a celebrity or historical figure he resembles personality-wise). My Mastiffs are named Grimm and Krueger because those names fit their temperaments and habits (e.g., Grimm really is rather grim and Krueger can be a little maniac with very long claws!). See what name fits your Mastiff when you get him.

I like the names Tank or Diesel. They sound tough and mastiffs are big and tough right? I am leaning towards Diesel.

How about "Magnum?" That sounds like a cool name for an English Mastiff.
