anti virus help please?

What is a good anti-virus to install on my pc? I can't afford one right now & need it to be free.I know it needs to be checked for viruses.Please help,thank you

    Use Anti-virus Avast, both free, for a anti-malware program use malwarebytes anti-malware, free also, a very good program that is light on the pc as well

    McAfee has a 90 day free trial that is the best.

    I just bought a new laptop and used that until the trial was over

    then I bought the $40.00 package.
