Looking for some summer travel ideas?

A couple of years ago I went to Hong Kong over the summer and had a blast, now I need some ideas for my next great adventure - please help!

I am looking to spend a week or two, and ideally somewhere an "english-only speaker" can easily get around.

Thanks in advance!

Update:

I am from the U.S. and my budget is about $4-5k (total for two people).

As for my interest, I am not a big shopper. So I am looking for some place with a lot of history and interesting places to visit (museums, mountains, etc) ... I am really in love with sight seeing.

I would love to go to Thailand. I've heard it's like paradise and people definitely speak English!

Also, somewhere like Bora Bora sounds like fun for the summer..

but of course it all depends on what you're looking for.. beach, mountains, shopping...?
