Do kids still play with paper dolls?
My daughter is still a bit young for paper dolls but I was wondering if kids still play with them. I loved paper dolls when I was little. I had all kinds of them.
BQ: Are there any toys that you wish were still made so your kids could play with them?

As a kid, I loved paper dolls, shrinky dinks, colorforms, lacing cards, 'Dessy Bessy' - the doll that lets you practice tying, buckling, zippering, etc.
Now I have been keeping my eye out for these types of toys for my daughter.
Target has some paper dolls by Klutz which look adorable, but reviewers said the sticky tabs to hold the clothes on don't work very well.
Mellisa & Doug make a cute wooden version of paper dolls with clothes that stick magnetically. (See link.)
My daughter is 2 1/2 and likes the magnetic dress up dolls; actual paper dolls would probably require some fine motor help from me.

When we went on vacation, we had about a 16 hour drive to look forward to with Emma. I decided to print off some paper dolls on magnetic paper. I printed off 4 bunnies, a mommy, daddy, brother, and sister. Then I printed off a bunch of outfits... pajamas, costumes, hats, shoes, that sort of thing. I cut all that out and brought along a cookie sheet (the magnets stuck to it!). She sat in her carseat for a couple hours at a time putting them together on the cookie sheet. She loved it! I still think she would be too young for the paper dolls, but I remember playing with them! I remember one of the things I loved was the polly pockets. I don't mean the ones they have now. I mean the ones that they had that were super small. They had the little pollys and such, and the whole container could close. Definitely not something she could use now, but I told my mom to see if she could find them for when she is older!

I never played with paper dolls and I never knew they existed when I was a kid, I didnt have the greatest childhood I had no toys, but I think the idea of them is neat and if my daughter wants to play with them when she gets older I will buy them out, lol

they are not very popular but I have found these magnetic dolls with dresses and accessories. She plays with them on the refrigerator. She has lost several of the pieces but I really don't mind cause they were just a few tins from the dollar store.
As far as toys,Not so much toys I wish they made but better cartoons like the ones we had when we were kids. Things like Tom and Jerry, Bugs bunny, Woody Woodpecker, The Jetson's, The Flintstones and such. Now they have stupid anime. God that is so stupid.

I remember when I played with paper dolls! But they were given to me by my grandparents. They weren't really that popular when I was a kid, so I'm doubting they are now. Kids are looking for action. Maybe get her some when she's 9 or 10.

Mine do. We have books and books and books full of cutout outfits and backdrops for them. Both my boys and girls get into it. I have found them online and in antique markets and speciality stores. They're hard to find amongst all the light up, talking, edible, noise making, maths teaching, vocabulary increasing, "educational" alleged IQ boosting, hypoallergenic plastic gizmos that have flooded most kids' lives, but they're out there.
Most of the things I remember liking are still out there. You have to look somewhere other than Gizmos Is Us.

I loved paperdolls! They're not really around much these days, and my children aren't really old enough to play with them yet, but my little cousin does, and I think that's awesome!
And, to the person who dissed anime, whilst I loved the Flintstones, Jetsons, etc. (even though they were before my time!) I love anime, I think it's brilliant, and so beautiful!
