write him a poem or a song, or just hand write him a love note and make a homemade birthday card. I think making him so food is a good idea.. even if he doesnt eat much... at least its still something, rather than nothing. or you could make him a music mix, or draw him a picture, or make him something cute, I dont know. can you do any quick jobs for people, like baby sit, to earn a few bucks? (and perhaps its time to get a job.) Guys dont care that much about birthday presents like girls do, it wont kill him not to get anything. he should already know and understand that you dont have any money.
