It's always best to discourage egg-laying. It's very taxing on the body, and one of the most common problems we see in an avian vet hospital is egg-binding. I've written up a little sheet on how to best attempt to stop egg-laying, although some birds will need medical attention.

There are different things you can do to discourage laying.

Limit her daylight hours to 12-14 hours a day. With 10-12 hours of dark, quiet sleep, her body will be fooled into thinking there are not enough daylight hours to care for chicks.

Take out all nest boxes, happy huts, snuggle friends, or any toys with whom she gets a little too “friendly.”

Do not give her any nesting material, and if she chews paper, use a grate at the bottom of the cage.

Sometimes, moving the cage to a different spot helps. Also, moving around the toys, perches and food and water bowls may help prevent laying.

Try not to pet her in a manner that seems to excite her. Usually, this is any petting below the head and neck. If she seems to be responding in a sexual manner, you may need to put her back in her cage until she settles down.

Definitely don’t get her a male.

Make sure she gets a diet rich in calcium. Foods like broccoli and dark leafy greens (kale, mustard, collard and dandelion greens) are good sources of calcium. A cuttlebone is also a good source, and is much higher in calcium than a mineral block.

When she’s laying, offer fresh, clean water, which will help in preventing egg-binding.

Do not take any of the eggs away until she’s finished sitting on them. Single female cockatiels usually realize after around ten days that their eggs are dud. She may sit on them for a week or so more, but will lose interest. Once she does, you can remove them without her wanting to replace them.

If there is no male bird, then the egg is infertile. Female budgies may occasionally lay eggs without a mate. These eggs will not develop into chicks. If your bird is just leaving the egg on the cage bottom and not sitting on it, you can throw the egg out. If you get a male, then your birds might mate and have babies. Please please DO NOT get a male and mate budgies without knowledge and experience! Mating birds takes a lot of time and effort. To tell if your bird's gender, look at the cere (the fleshy bit above their beak). If it's brown, it's a female. If it's blue, it's a male (with the exception of albinos, lutinos and recessive pieds, which will show a pinkish cere). Juvenile budgies have a purple cere. I hope this helps!

Err, sorry the guy who stated "birds lay eggs and then cockerals fertilise them" is, err, incorrect...in no way seen a cockeral leap on an egg besides, Birgs lay eggs, no challenge. She would stay broody however, which you will desire to ruin the habit take all of the eggs away, do no longer go away any along with her and decrease the nesting capacity, get rid of shavings, in keeping with threat positioned her on a wiremesh truly than good floor. Sounds cruele yet she would finally end up ravenous herself waiting for the eggs to hatch crack the eggs interior the sink, flush the yolk away and bin the shells. Throwing them on the tip of the backyard will inspire rodents.

There is nothing in those eggs if she hasn't previously "dated".

If you get her a male, she might beat him up, love him, not care. depends on a lot of factors.

I'd leave them for about 3 weeks and give her calcium supplements. Unless she breaks them open then take them off. If you take them away, there are chances that she will make another one and another one and another one and that can make her weak.
