Frigidaire range element repair.?
My Frigidaire Self-cleaning range model no. CFEF366EM has a problem in its right rear element. When I turn on the knob, its turning on but not at the full capacity. Can anyone suggest how to fix this problem? As I called to Frigidaire customer service they said my range is almost 2 years old and I dont have the extended warranty so they will charge me $85.95 + Tax just to spell out the problem and then to solve it they will charge me for labor and parts and tax once again.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
Nisha

sounds like the switch is the problem it is getting partial power to the burner. go to sear parts direct and look upthe switch number as the diagramdoesn't show which switch is right rear.Good luck

to me it seems to be one of two things.
the knob that you turn is attached to an individual thermostat that only works that particular burner.
the second thing is the heating element itself.
usually if there's something wrong with the Element, it won't light up at all, so my guess would be the thermostat that's working that particular burner.
get someone who knows what they're doing and have them SWAP that thermostat with the other EXACT SIZE burner. if the element now works then you'll know it's the thermostat. they can also try plugging the element that's in question into the other one that's the same size element. if the element works there then that's another indication that it's the thermostat, if not then you'll know it's the element.
go to a SMALL APPLIANCE PARTS STORE. take the model and make With you as well as the part your trying to replace. search the Yellow pages in your area for a parts store. parts are not cheap but if someone comes out they'll have to charge you for both a service call and the parts.
