How long should I wait after his breakup to confess to him?

There is this boy that I've liked for a very long time, but I've avoided getting to "know him" because of the fact that he had a girlfriend. Just recently they broke up (they'd been going out for a little less than 4 months) and I want to take a shot at it. How long should I wait before I should go for it? I'm worried that they'll try to get back together before I get my chance just because I chickened out. Arghh... what do I do?

Tell him the next time you see him but approach him nicely without jumping into it. Just ask him how his day is and how everything is and tell him that you have been liking him for awhile and you didn't want to tell him because you didn't want to disrespect his relationship. No matter what his answer is stay cool and even offer to be just friends. That Will give him time to see what type of girl you are and even grow to like you. good luck girl and follow your heart.

I would ask him if he wanted to hang out ASAP and then try to get a feel for the status of the breakup before putting myself out there. Like maybe while you guys were together you could say, "Oh, I heard you and so-and-so broke up...." and then see what he has to say. In general I have seen that guys don't really need a lot of time to get over a girl if they weren't that into her to begin with. Good luck!

If he broke up with her there shouldn't be any problem to ask him out . If she broke up with him then you should wait about 2 weeks to a month I suppose.

if he liked you then he would tell you, especially since he's single now. don't tell him anything let him come to you
