Are a sewer bill and a water bill the same thing?
Might be a dumb question, but I'm wondering.

No. Water is fresh water coming in. Sewer is the waste going out. Two separate bills here.

Our sewer charges and water charges are on the same bill, but no, they aren't the same thing. Water is of course the water you use to bathe, wash dishes, clothes, water the lawn, etc.
Sewer is the waste water from doing the above as well as any other water that runs through the sewer system.

no they are different.
BUT, most water companies that have sewer also bill you for the sewer as well as the water. they bill you for what water you take in as well as what water you put out also. even more my community also puts the garbage all on the same bill. water, sewer, trash, recycle, lawn trash. and they have the nerve to bill you for stuff you may not use. like the water bill has a basic charge of 35 dollars which is alot. even if I dont use 35 I have to pay it! my bill is about 110 for water sewer trash.

They are usually billed together. So technically they are the same thing. However, you will see a different amount on the bill for each.
