New England or Boston term for rubber necking?

I might just be imagining it, but I recall from my long ago time in Boston that they use a term other than rubber necking to describe when people slow down for a crash. Am I just imaging this? Thanks in advance.

    I call it "gawking" too.

Rubber necking is more for people who slow down to look at pretty houses and scenic vistas. Their heads are moving side-to-side, looking around, hence the rubber neck. If it's an accident, they're usually just slowing down to look in one place. I'd call it "gawking".

I think the term you are looking for is "as*hole"

    I hate rubber neckers
