Question regarding gun laws in Florida?
This dude has been sending me like threatening messages and stuff, talkin a whole lotta crap, wantin to fight. he's like 18 or somethin but im not into the whole highschool fighting thing, so i was gonna one up him and shoot him if he came at me for a fight. what are the repercussions for pulling a gun on someone and possibly using it when it comes to self defense? im 19 so i know i cant own a handgun yet, but i got a shotgun that will do fine and dandy.
i dont mean to offend people and all either im just curious, chances are this will not turn out to be anything.
in addition, thank yall for the good advice and not trip out about me having a gun. i was gonna try the law section but i love polls & surveys because the smartest people are in this section thanks

Should be if he has a weapon, then you could use "Self defense". but if he is unarmed and you shoot, it is murder straight up. Look at this this should help you out.

Edit: In a couple years, if you get a hand gun, go for a concealed weapons permit. I know Florida has them because my state honors them (If I got to Florida, I can Legaly carry concealed) I got the concealed permit and as long as your not a felon, or have any violent past crimes, you should have no problem getting one. I own guns, so I know where you are coming from. Good luck man, and don't do anything you will wish you hadn't

Best to try the law section, but either way it could get messy.
One thing though, who's to say you go fight this guy and he's packing anyway? Stay away from him, or call the cops.
If worst comes to worst, and you think your life is in danger, take him out if the cops wont.

Most states say that, unless "the attacker had a weapon that could cause lethal injury, lethal force is an act of criminal intent"...bottom line...unless he has a weapon,if you shoot him,it's murder

common sense sez, call the cops and tell them whats happening. Lots better than going to jail and having to deal with your new husband Bubba

You better have witnesses that will back you up or you will regret even touching the gun.
