I'm a 17 year old girl. I sometimes have a period once every 2 month. Last year i only came on in January,April,June,Auguast,October and December.

Should i go to the doctors?

It could be the fact that your still growing and your body is going through chances, like how often and when your period comes. It also depends whether or not your a virgin or if your on the birth control pill because those will definitely do that. Don't worry about it for now, it's normal, but if it keeps up for another year or two, then see your doctor because it might be some kind of infection like a urinary one.

it is pretty typical, esp if you are on the skinny side or you work out a lot.

At 18 you should go to the gynecologist for the first time...you can go earlier and mention it at your appointment, but mos likely they will telly ou there isnt much they can do aside from putting you on birth control to regulate it

  • if you go to the doctor.. just say my period is irregular.. tell them like you told us, more then likely they will put you on the pill to regulate you

i had the same problem you are describing and it's not fun if you are sexually active and are wanting your period to come. birth control will help!
