I cant upload a video to windows movie maker?

Whenever I try and upload a video on to Windows Movie Maker then this always comes up:

The file C:\Users\admin\Pictures\2010-03-26\001.MOV cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

If you know what it is and how I can fix it please tell me. Thanks so much.

If you need to edit your mov videos with windows movie maker, I guess the easiest way is to convert mov to wmv, avi for wmm. You do not need to download a lot of codec to see which one fits you, but to try a converter which install plenty of corresponding codec to match automatically.

You may download the trial version first for evaluation. Good luck!

Maybe because you don't know what "Upload" means?:

"In computer networks, to download means to receive data to a local system from a remote system, or to initiate such a data transfer. Examples of a remote system from which a download might be performed include a webserver, FTP server, email server, or other similar systems. A download can mean either any file that is offered for downloading or that has been downloaded, or the process of receiving such a file."

Is WMM a Web Server? No. Use the term "Import".

Your probably going to have to change the format of your videos.

What I do because its much easier, is upload my videos on to muvee reveal. That program accepts any format. After your video is uploaded to the muvee reveal, save it to your computer then upload it to movie maker.

I know its seems a bit complex, but its easiest for me when I am making youtube videos.

    Here is the program http://www.muvee.com/en/products/reveal
