Nascar Nation: Who was bad fast today in Sprint Cup practice?

Question

Jeff Burton was pretty good,  Mark Martin was good.  But someone everyone is talking about is just someone who noone wants to talk about right now and thats fine with me.  Hermie Sadler said it best today.  Last year everyone was all over this guy because of how bad they were running and all of the bad luck and where he was at in points.  This year, he's ran strong and he's now 8th in points and noone wants to talk about it.  Thats fine with me because its a long season and it means nothing right now.  I just want to see them keep their heads down and keep gaining and working to get better and thats what I see happening.  I hope the media stays off his case for awhile and lets him do his thing, but if he wins this weekend its going to be hard for them to do that.  Who could I possibly be talking about?

Jamie Mac was fastest in happy hour, and his average time was good.. Jeff Gordon was fourth, with a better average time.. Jr's best time put him in seventh, just one one thousandth of a second in front of Mark, who had the best average time by one one hundredth of a second over Jr.. Jimmie was four one thousandth behind Mark with a not too good average time.. For Jimmie.. Burton, and Bowyer were second, and third, but their times didn't hold up on long runs.. Montoya's fast lap was four one thousandths better than Jr, and his average time stood up to Martin, and Earnhardt.. Kurt Busch was only  twentieth fast, but his average time was smokin' right up with Martin, and Earnhardt..

I originallythough it was Jimmie Johnson but when you said 8th in points I knew. Yeah I agree. Just let him stay under the radar but aparently nascar.com never got that message haha.

Jamie McMurray was the fastest in final practice.  I'm assuming this is a legitimate question.  Wouldn't want to interrupt the whizzing contest you boys have going on.
