If I need a repair disk for windows vista?
I am about to try and set up a dual boot of windows xp and vista, I already have vista, and am planning on installing XP on a separate partition. All the tutorials are telling me that after installing XP, I will no longer be able to boot into vista because it overwrites the vista bootloader, and says I need to put in the vista CD and use the repair function. Well my computer didnt come with a vista cd, but I have a valid license. Regardless of legality issues(which I don't see any issue anyways) would I be able to use a 'copy' of vista and burn it to a disk, (as in download via torrent) and would it work to fix the issue?

You dont need to download one, you can make one from your installation.
To create a system repair disc
Go into your control panel and click to open Backup and Restore.
In the left pane, click 'Create a system repair disc', and then follow the steps. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Note
If you're prompted to insert a Windows installation disc, it means that the files needed to create the system repair disc can't be found on your computer. Insert a Windows Vista installation disc.

You need to make a back up of your vista operating system on CD ROM. there should be an option for this in the control panel. Or go to www.neosmart.net and download the Iso posted there

http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recove... may work. And see http://www.bootstrike.com/WindowsVista/dualbootvis... regarding installing XP when Vista is installed.
(Yes, it would be legal to use someone else's disk to fix the Vista boot - downloading Vista isn't legal.)
