My fiance' is in the hospital with a severe collasped lung is it legal for his work to fire him b/c of this?

Im trying to find out sum legal stuff b/c i dont think this is right and everyones tellings us his work cant do this.. thanks!

    If he has received notice from work that he has been terminated since being off sick, then he has a case. He may need documented proof that he was in the hospital, like a signed note from the doctor to make any claims for compensation for being ill.

    His employer should allow him short term disability. First he should be allowed to use his remaining vacation days and then his short term disability should kick in. If they fired him already, he should speak to a social worker at the hospital who canassist him with his legal options.
