Nascar: If you were leading the race and the 48 was behind you, would you?
Do everything you could to not let him go by? Or would you just pull over to the side and wave him on by making sure not to make the slightest bit of contact and or god for bid maybe wreck him to win the race? It seems like someone is going to have to start a rivalry to try to knock them off of their game because just racing them clean isn't working. I'm not saying pull a Carl "Slingblade" on him, but when's the last time someone roughed the 48's feathers? I remember Gordon a couple years ago slightly at Martinsville, maybe the 2 a couple times last year but that was mostly the other way around. And I remember some contact with the 11 at Martinsville within the last few races, but once again that was the 48 initiating the contact. When was the last time someone initiated contact with the 48?

I remember the 2 car and Jimmie got in a shoving match at Chicagoland last year. I think Johnson started it accidentally, so Kurt payed him back double. But the last time he got beat up going for the win... hmmm... Talladega '06?
To answer the question, if I was leading Johnson with five to go, I'd run which line I thought was the fastest, probably the bottom if everything was normal, and make him pass me. If he gets a bumper to the inside, I'm not going to turn myself across it. He'd have to pass me clean, and if he did I certainly wouldn't wreck him. If I was able to get back to him, I'd do nothing more than race him how he raced me. And if that means a bump-and-run, so be it.
However, I'll never be in this position! LOL!

I would block him all day.....like Dale Sr.!!!! There's no way Id let him get by!!!!
I don't wish for rivalries or want to instigate anything I enjoy good clean racin.....but ya Im tired of The Chad Knaus & Jimmie Johnson Show as I said before.
Its time someone else shows him whats up......I personally think with his wife being pregnant he will start to get distracted all on his own with the pressure of a new baby arriving.....and his performance will start to be affected especially after a few sleepless nights...Heck look at what has happend to good ol Carl....he's been a little cranky lately huh? No sleep does that to people.....LOL
Anyways yes Id like to see something slow down this #48 teams momentum!!!
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!!

If I was in front of the 48 at Martinsville with 5 laps to go, I'd hold the bottom and do everything I could to block him.
And if I was in 2nd, I wouldn't be one bit afraid to bump him and push him up the track so I could go by. I know for sure that if someone gets that chance this weekend, they won't hesitate to do so. I hope I'm right.

I would do everything I could to keep him on my bumper. Even if it means getting wrecked. Then I'd get my payback the next week, because in my book, winning alot of races doesn't earn you respect, and he doesn't really respect anyone except Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin.

Now hold on.. Denny gave him some room on the bottom, and came down on him when Jimmie stuck his nose in.. The Denny whined about it.. Denny used to do that allot.. Coming down on someone, and whining about it, after wrecking himself.. He may even treat us to a replay tomorrow..
I can't really answer your question without knowing what track, and what lap you were talking about.. Am I holding him up, or is he pushing hard to stay with me??

lol slingblade
waving by the 48 is not an option
basically close the door on him
if he nudge's me and some how get by then
the only option is a cole trickle
after he wins t- bone him lol !!!!!!

I'd let him pull along side and shoot his tires out.
