is this attachment disorder?
As a child my mother showed no affection and it was disapproved to be affectionate to her. My marriage failed and i was not able to keep a relationship going when i grew older. I have 3 kids all grown up, and i do all i can to help them etc and my grand kids and i make sure to always be affectionate and open to a cuddle etc, but inside i don't feel anything. They will always say to me, I love you and i will say the same back, but the truth is inside i don't feel anything. If something happened to my kids and grandkids i'd always be the first there to give support,. Is this attachment disorder, have i switched off somehow as a child. I do remember wanting cuddles and comfort but knowing that i wouldn't get them as a child. Thank you all

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, but no, it doesn't sound like attachment disorder, because you are definitely attached to your loved ones, even if you don't think you're feeling the right amount of love in return. Research a bit about attachment disorder like from place like here http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/reactive-attachme... and you'll understand that you don't have it. BUT - there are many other reasons you feel 'detached' from their love, so I'd suggest you see a counselor to help you understand and perhaps begin feeling better. Good luck and take care.
