Exercises in the erg:
Try to keep your back straight for many times
Not the erg:
Try to strech straight you back when you sit down

Hey there, I'm a tennis player. And I have scoliosis.
While there are many ways to help you to straighten your back (not your scoliosis), like wearing a back brace which make you stand upright or sit upright without using your energy to straighten it.
Well, you can visit a physiotherapist that specializes in treating scoliosis, they help you work on the muscles that is pulling you downward and streghtening and prevent your scoliosis from getting worse (that is if your growing though).
and if you are suffering pain from scoliosis, visit a chiropractor, they relax the muscle that are causing the pain.
But i think physiotherapy is the best thing you can do now.
Good luck.

You could always try a Scoliosis brace or surgery. You could also try physical therapy. They could help you find stretches that will help you feel more comfortable with your rowing. tell them to f*ck off! If you have really bad scoliosis (so do I) they shouldn't be yelling at you to keep it straight for aesthetic reasons. I would tell them of your condition so you don't have to worry about it. IMO having your coach yelling at you to keep your back straight is the same as a coach yelling at a girl on the team she's fat and needs to lose weight when she isn't. It's going to make you try ridiculous things to please them
