Meredith has a good idea. Hit the Sun Dial for cocktails, an appetizer and a view that you'll never forget. Then, if you've never been, think about Pitty Pat's Porch, right across the street for one of Atlanta's oldest Southern food restaurants. I'm not going to say the food is 5-Star, but it's very good and an Atlanta tradition.

Or, if you want the best view in the world of Atlanta, and an experience & memory you will never forget, then take a look at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant www.the57threstaurant.com for a place that you've probably never heard of, much less ever thought of going to eat at. The food is good and the setting is one of a kind. But, before you sit down to eat, place a reservation to take your wife on a bi-plane ride over Atlanta www.biplaneridesoveratlanta.com at the Peachtree-DeKalb Airport, which is just outside the rear patio...in fact you walk out their back door to get on the plane! Take a Sunday noon-ish flight, then take in the Sunday Buffet for an all around great experience.

There are some items (like steak) that you can get anywhere. So while places like Bones and Ruths Chris are expensive and good -- you can get that food back home!

Some of the better places in Atlanta are: Bacchanalia, Ecco, Joel, Rathbun, Floataway Cafe, Woodfire Grill, Nava. A lot of people on this site recommend the Sundial Restaurant, which has a spectacular view, and an over-rated menu. I say, go there for cocktails, and to one of the aforementioned places for dinner.
