If you really love each other, then marriage should wait until after he gets out of prison. (Unless there's some benefit for you two being married while he's in prison)
I'm not against you marrying someone who's gone to prison, but you should at least wait until he gets out. You don't know if he'll change as soon as he gets out. His options are limited when he's in jail, but once he's free then he could become different. He could go back to doing what put him in jail in the first place, he might cheat on you since he now has options, or anything else.
If you plan on being married for the rest of your lives, then what's the rush?
(If he has a life sentence then this whole response in meaningless. If that's the case then best of luck.)

The prison will have the chaplain do it with the wardens approval. Without approval, it will not take place. That is the rules
FYI, if he is already your husband then you wouldn't need to get married. Your boyfriend is in prison. Can I suggest something here? Do not marry a man who is in or has been to prison, it not only changes them dramatically, it also limits what type of life they and by extension you will ever have.

You have a good idea, getting married. You just need the right guy, anyone but not some one in prison!!!
