This will depend on the type of sticker but also it will depend on how clean the surfboard surface area is that you are going to place the sticker on. Just use something like "X Wax" to clean the area really well so it is free of any dirts, oils etc, let it dry and put the sticker on. As long as it is a waterproof sticker it should stay on fine.
