To shred or not to shred, that is the question...?

I have tons of old papers to shred. Needless to say it's time consuming. Is it OK to not shred old papers pertaining to a vehicle that I no longer own? It was "totaled" in an accident 5 years ago. I plan on sending some papers to the recycle bin.

The only things you need to shred are insurance papers, title and owners cards since the vehicle is obviously no longer in existence.
