There seems to be more than one purple shade. That or they applied, I'm guessing, a pink or red over the purple directly on the lid so as to change its colour. They've also used either black or a very dark blueish purple for crease work. The actual type of purple used all over looks like a lilac purple, while the shade on the lid resembles a pinkish fuchsia.

And you can buy purples like that anywhere. Check your local drug store first, and if you spot any that look like these, swatch them on your hand (so, take some on your finger from the tester and see if it's chalky or smooth). Only pick out the smoothest ones. If you don't find anything at your local drug store, try stores like Sephora or a department store in the makeup department.

The shadow itself is a powder. It looks mostly matte, but I'd wager a guess and say that the red/pink used sheerly over the lid is a shimmery shade.

As for how to apply it, well..

    1) Start off with a primed lid (you can skip this step if you want). If you have any foundation or powder, you can use those, or you can use an actual primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. L'Oreal makes a similar (and lesser quality) version called De-Crease. Let the primer sit for a few minutes before applying makeup.

    2) Apply a a slight blue-based purple on the entire lid, all the way to the brow bone. Sweep it under your lower lash line as well. I'd recommend using a slightly large yet dense brush for the lid area and a smaller fluffy brush for the lower lash line.

    3) Take a light and sheer shimmery (or pearlized) pinkish fuchsia and sweep it over the lid, only slightly above the crease. Take another clean brush and blend everything together to remove any harsh lines. I'd recommend using a soft fluffy brush for this so as not to deposit too much colour, as well as for soft blending.

    4) Grab an off-white pearl shadow and apply some in the inner crease over the purple and into the tear duct, bringing it down to the under eye area. Apply some right under the brow bone as well. That fluffy brush will work well here as well.

    5) Take your black or dark blueish purple and apply it from the middle of the crease to the outer edge, sweeping it down along the lower lash line. Blend the dark shade with the other purple with a clean brush. I'd recommend a slightly larger brush for the crease work, since it does use up quite a bit of room on the lid. Then, go over it with a smaller brush for added depth right in the crease, and softly go over it with your large fluffy brush. Take the small brush for the lower lash line.

    6) Take a black eyeliner (optional) and line the upper lash line in a thin line. If the line looks too harsh, blend it out with a firm yet soft angled eyeliner/brow brush.

    7) Then apply your mascara of choice. There are obviously false lashes used here as well.

    Product recommendations:

All-over purple: Cover Girl Purple Pop 455

Lid: Cover Girl Knock Out Pink 460

    Crease: http://www.lorealparis.ca/cosmetics/eyes/wear-infi...

    Highlight; http://www.lorealparis.ca/cosmetics/eyes/wear-infi...

Those are just a few suggestions. You can likely find others from other brands, just look around.

Here are some recs for pricier brands that I personally adore. I don't know how invested you are in makeup, so I recommended cheaper alternatives first.

All-over purple: Make Up For Ever Lilac Matte 116

Lid: Make Up For Ever Lilac 89 or Lorac Delight

Crease: Lorac After Party or Lorac Black

Highlight: Make Up For Ever White Shimmer 7

And in response to Lauren: The eyeshadow, much like ANY brand, doesn't crease for everyone. I have very oily lids, and over my Urban Decay Primer Potion and even over my cream eyeshadow, the cover girl shadows do NOT crease on me. I do not experience any creasing until about... Hour 25? OH and, 88% of people is not an actual estimate as to how many people who use the product like or dislike it. Hell, some products on makeupalley get terrible reviews, but get amazing reviews on other review websites. Not to mention, a lot of people on makeupalley are terribly stupid when writing their reviews, and state they hate something because "omg this colour sux!" as opposed to real reasons as to why the PRODUCT sucks. I wonder how fantastical the reviews for what was recommended in everyone else's answers are: Clearly, reviews do not justify whether a product is good or not, only personal experience does.

God, I really hate little girls sometimes.

    http://www.makeupgeek.com/wp-content/uploads/purpl...

From what I can see, the eyeshadow in that picture is a powder. The ones that I found all have a similar color.

Just scroll down and look for the purple colors in the Sephora eyeshadows. BTW, don`t get Covergirl Smokey Shadow Blast like the first answer said.

It creases in a half hour even with a primer! Don`t get that one. BTW, I read on Makeup Alley that 88% of people hated this, so that`s a pretty wide majority of people that agree with me on this one.

To achieve this look, use an eyeshadow primer to make sure it stays in place.

Then apply the color all over the lid all the way up to the brow bone and to the outer end of your eyebrow.

Smudge this under your lower lash line. Then use the white highlighter shade at the upper right area underneath your eyebrow.

Then line the top eye with black eyeliner. The false eyelashes at the end are optional. Kind of hard to explain, but you can use the picture as a guide. Hope this helps.

Apply the darkest shade of purple on your eyelid, and then sweep some really light purple shimmerish eyshadow under the brow. The purple is a really good choice for brown eyes, it makes them POP!
