How long can hair bleach sit in the bottle after mixed?
I am bleaching the top part of my hair. It won't take the whole bottle, so I wanted to do it in steps until I get the desired lightness. However, I have heard after it's mixed it shouldn't sit too long or it can explode, and doing as many steps as I want to do will take a good couple of hours. How long can I let the bleach sit in the bottle after mixing it before it has that risk? Also, does it look effectiveness after a while? Thanks in advance.

do this.....mix half of the bleach and developer in a plastic bowl and bleach your hair.leave the other halves unmixed. Once you mix it it has about one hour to tak effect. If its already been sitting there when you put it on your hair its not gonna do anything

It won't explode..I've left bleach and color out and the only thing it did was foam up, and dry up a little(The bleach). The reason why you can't use already mixed products is because it looses it's strengths. The minute it is mixed up, It starts oxidizing. It most likely won't even work in a "couple of hours". Use it right off.

Oh yes if confined enough in sm. bottle it will explode; I kno bc it just happened to me. I too wanted to save it not knowing it would lose its power so I left on coffee table; 2hrs later it popped. I bleached my table clothe, dog's collar, pair of my husbands gloves, & the damn ceiling. Wish I'd looked this up sooner so would of known to only mix 1/2
